Due to COVID-19, the Fall 2020 Camp has been postponed until Spring 2021. Stay safe and healthy, and stay tuned for updates!

Spring 2021: Dates TBC

Squamish Valley, British Columbia

The Location

Mom Camp: The Camp takes place at a retreat and educational centre located on 165 hectares of ecological reserve in Paradise Valley, near Squamish, British Columbia.

Named by The New York Times as one of the top 52 Places to Go, the area offers endless year-round recreation from hiking, biking, fishing and wilderness camping to cabin getaways.

Squamish is nestled between Vancouver and Whistler along the Sea to Sky corridor, one of North America’s most scenic coastal routes. Its spectacular 360-degree views range from snow-capped mountains to glacial lakes to old-growth forests to the turquoise waters of the Howe Sound fjord that look almost too good to be true.

Moms need camp too.

The camp experience can be transformative for kids. Away from the routine of day to day life they build friendships and find community, they build confidence, and they learn a little more about who they are as individuals. But why is that experience only for kids? Moms need all those things too!

  • To create your own natural medicine health plan that supports your systems in need

The Schedule

Mom Camp: The Camp will take place in Spring 2021, exact dates TBD. Arrival will be Friday afternoon and departure will be after lunch on Sunday. The two nights and three days will include personal development workshops, fitness classes, social time, outdoor activities and lots of down time for relaxation and rejuvenation! The final schedule will be sent out to all participants closer to the date.

We have a great schedule of sessions, with presentations and workshops with subject experts including a naturopathic doctor, a pelvic floor health coach, and a body positivity expert.

Outdoor activities

We will be in the middle of a forest, on the edge of the Squamish River. Of COURSE there will be outdoor activities! There will be lots of time to spend out in the beautiful West Coast air.

Fitness classes

There will be several fitness classes offered throughout the Camp, by qualified instructors. The classes are optional but will be fun and a great way to get your body moving and feeling great.

Social time

The meals, Campfire, and activities are all great social gatherings where you can meet new friends and strengthen relationships. Did we mention the pyjama dance party?

"It really was such a welcoming atmosphere. I've been to other conferences and sessions and sometimes you don't get that. We were all there at "mom camp" but really, what it was for me was a women's retreat. Women at different stages of our lives. Some of us going through some hard times, some of us early in the motherhood stage. But at the end of the day, it was the power of the village and community and being around people that maybe you can touch in some way and share one of your experiences. That was incredible. I think we don't have enough of that, those moments of building women, supporting women in a community that is not just wearing those labels as "Mom" or whatever your work is. It was just a place to be yourself and contribute to that village. It was great. "

Her session:

Kegels and Cocktails (or Sunday morning mimosas!)

Kegels are often prescribed but rarely taught and that means most women are doing them incorrectly, if they are doing them at all. Kegels work when done correctly, consistently and coordinated with movement. Sitting at every red light and squeezing your vagina a few times just isn't going to cut it...so let's change that. Let's also change the narrative around incontinence so that women know that the messages that tell us that light bladder leakage is 'just part of being a woman' are false! You do not need to accept pads as your destiny just because you are 'getting older' or because you have had children. Leak-free living IS possible when you are armed with the right information and clarity on the elusive kegel.

Her session: The Self-Compassion Strategy

You have a plan. You're going to ROCK this workout program/ diet/ meal plan and finally have the body and health of your dreams. But then...your kid gets sick, you get hit with an impossible work project and well....life. And that ROCKSTAR program/diet/plan? Yeah. See ya later. Another failure. Add it to the "failure" list. Sigh. It all starts to feel like #missionimpossible. But what if it wasn't? What if there was a secret ingredient - one that had nothing to do with food rules, hitting the gym or doing HIIT? In this workshop we're taking a deep dive into powerful practice of Self-Compassion. Learn why self-compassion is actually the secret to lasting lifestyle change and how you can apply it in your life - starting today!

Time for target practice!

One of our activities during the weekend is on the archery range. Steady your arrow, take aim at the target and release! It's awesome, totally empowering, and a lot of fun.

"I am recently self-employed and am the one doing all the pickups and all the drop offs. It's not really something that I ever saw myself doing, and I just kind of forgot about myself there for a while. I used the Camp as an opportunity to get together with other moms that go through the same thing, and remember who Anya is. It was just great to have the bond and the energy that we all shared together. That was that was the biggest thing that I took away - that recognition that I'm not in this alone. I'm not the only one that gets buried in school and spit up and sick kids and trying to juggle it all. I still remember who I am. "

Nope. This Camp is definitely not a sales exercise.
